The
Seat Ibiza Ecomotive has excellent
diesel fuel
mileage. Its one of the highest mileage cars you can buy, with
a combined fuel consumption of 80.2 miles per U.K. gallon. What's more,
its also a very inexpensive car.
The
2011 Seat Ibiza Ecomotive has undergone extensive changes
since the 2010 version. The biggest changes are a new engine and the addition
of a stop start system. This means fuel economy is up - the 2010 Ecomotive
had a combined fuel mileage of 76.3 mpg.
A new 1.2 litre 3 cylinder diesel TDI engine replaces the old 1.4 litre diesel unit. The new engine is shared with the new VW Polo Bluemotion and Skoda Fabia Greenline. It produces 75 bhp and 133 lb ft of torque. High diesel fuel mileage is achieved by teaming the economical TDI engine with a very long ratio gearbox. Since the engine has a fair amount of torque it copes ok with this. The only real issue with the diesel engine is refinement. Its a little noisy and has a distinct rattle.
A new feature of the 2011 Ibiza Ecomotive is a gear shift indicator to tell you when its best to change gear for maximum fuel mileage. Other features of the car include hill hold assist, ABS, ESP, air con and MP3 connectivity. The more expensive Ibiza Ecomotive SE also has cruise control, heated wing mirrors and fog lights with cornering function.
This high mileage diesel is a sensible car but its also appealing to young buyers because of its youthful and stylish looks. Its available in three different body styles - a 5 door hatch, a sporty looking 3 door hatch and a 5 door estate. The 2011 Seat Ibiza Ecomotive has had an aerodynamic makeover and boasts a new front grille, front and rear spoilers, and rear wheel arch deflectors.
The practical Ecomotive is a nice car to drive and feels surprisingly powerful given it only has 75 bhp. Steering is good and the car feels responsive and has a good feel.
The Seat Ibiza Ecomotive has
